Just finished my taxes...getting a HUGE chunk back (thanks to the house)...now I can finally pay off my stupid credit card! My effective tax rate came out to be 6.16% 
One negative, as I was going through my mail to find all my tax papers, I came across a supplemental property tax bill from December that I thought Countrywide would automagically take care of...after looking into it a bit more, it appears that Countrywide doesn't take care of it unless I contact them about it, and now it's overdue...I guess they'll still pay it (plus a slight late payment penalty) and adjust my monthly impound account payment...
Now come on George Bush and Congress, where's my federal tax rebate???!
