Before you jump to conclusions, open your mind. The dual head lamp system that counts as one lamp are the headlamps ie. high beam/low beam. Don't attempt to pwnt me on this one smart ***.

OK, so wire them to come on when the high beams are on and you are covered since high beams on = fog/driving lights off...

Whether counted for one light or individually, I see a total of 8 lights max, on the front and no more than 4 of each type (i.e. fog, driving, headlight...) I would think you'd pass an inspection and wouldn't get yanked unless you were driving on the street with the off-road lights turned on.

Hense the second section quoted that shows how Paul will have to operate the Princess Mobile. One set of the fogs will have to be covered or he may be spoken to nicely by somebody with a badge.

While Furley's wrong (and the last thing I'm going to do is question the vehicle code), reading through that, you can't have more than 4 lights illuminated at any one time, and can't have more than 8 lights offroad. It then talks about the 8 lights for offroad use needing covers, but by my math, lights used for onroad use (and not illuminated) would be legal with no covers.

Obviously, headlights and fogs are OK with no covers, but I thought driving lights were theoretically OK as long as you weren't running fogs at the same time and extinguished them for traffic like you would with high-beams.

Is it that anything over 4 needs to be covered?

This is how I understand the "4 lamp" limit.
