The bonus came from this awards program my company has where your peers nominate you for providing kick *** service, doing good work, etc. You get the monthly award, which is a recognition only award (basically they tell you that you won and notify your management of a job well done). Then you can win the quarterly, which gets you some skrilla, then the quarterly winners advance to the annual competition, which is where the big money is at. The big dog winner gets $7500 bonus and then the runners up get something like $2000 or so.
I've won back to back quarterlies, the first person in the history of the program to even win more than one quarterly in a year , let alone back to back. I'm shooting for the $7500

Sweet.
The first year I worked here, they gave us all $20 gift certificates to Wal-Mart. The next year, they gave us all $25 gift certificates to Smiths for the holidays.
I wonder if we'll get $30 this year to Albertsons!

I've been at my new job for 3 months and I've bonused twice so far $400/ea time for top sales. All my bonuses go straight to paying bills lol
Sadly I didn't bonus this pay period
