Good morning. Most of my teachers told us that we didnt need to come to class anymore so im debating whether i should go or not.

heh, it's not an o/s issue it's an issue with the clustering software. the app team did an upgrade over the weekend, started the app up and both systems died. The systems come up fine but the clustering software won't start, which means the filesystems don't load, which means the app can't access its data to start up.

Unfortunately the logs for the cluster software don't yield any actual information so I have nothing to go on.

This system is running some software by a company called Polyserve. Veritas didn't support Linux when they went live with these machines. Polyserve = lose in this version. I hear later versions are better, but because of the way Polyserve is integrated with this OS version (RH Advanced Server 2.1) and because the asshats at RH didn't provide an upgrade path from 2.1 to EL 3.0, upgrading the OS or the cluster software would require a complete rebuild of the environment.

It sucks.

clusters? Defrag the B****, and then maybe do a scan disk.
