sonic, CSUS has a course called "spanish 7" iirc. it's basically reading comprehension in spanish. the cool part is all the exams were in english. it's so easy, alta vista is enough translator.

another reason why the California education system sucks

If my major is engineering.. why do I need 3 years of a foreign language (besides needing it for every day life in California now)

a BS degree has a higher unit requirement than a BA degree does, and that stinks.

I get to take history classes to major in business. ancient civilization=music industry????

HOWEVER, judging from some of the people I've met in my college classes, I think they could use a little more overall knowledge before going out into the real world

Yeah, at the JC level it's even worse. it would help if "the real world" wasn't shaded over by pop culture. in other countires where they didn't put so much energy into pop culture, they tend to know more about eveything else. Like where on a map Iraq is.
