I've been thinking of an old computer game...

Me and Cousins used to play way back in the mid 80's. We can't think of it to save our lives and it's been killing us for weeks. Basically since our last two family functions.

Not sure what type of computer it was played on but it was sorta like a primitive RPG. All the graphics were green (I think old monitors are all that existed) and you fought numerous types of monsters (goblins, rock monsters, etc) in green-lined hallways. You’d be advancing down the hallway and all of the sudden a monster would appear and you’d have to fight or flee IIRC.

The green lines represented the 3d effects of the hallways as you walked down them. Almost as if you were to draw the frame of a 3d box on paper.

You had a first-person character who navigated the halls and battled these beasts via keyboard commands.

Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

Let me see if I can find a screen shot of that game.

I think screen shots are in order here.

wasn't there also one called Labareth(sp?) that was like that?
i remember banging on the space bar to attack and it would take like 3-4 sec to respond with a dull "dunt" old computer noise then the staticy roar when it died.

I remember those early graphical Sierra games where you still had to type.

WALK TO BAR
TALK TO GIRL
BUY DRINK
BUY GIRL DRINK
**** GIRL (Sorry, I don't understand that command)

I can't believe you're were discussing Akalabeth!

That game was only 2nd to E.T. for Atari.
