installing springs...is it hard?
If you wanna DIY the spring install, I have the entire '04 WRX shop manual on CD (should be very similar to your '03). Just PM me if you want me to print off the info you need, and since I live in Davis as well, it'll be easy to get it to you. BTW, I'm leaving town Thursday night, so I'll need to know within 24hrs.

when Manny and i installed the STi springs and struts on my legacy, it wasn't hard at all. the only really irritating part was having to cut the tabs off on the brake line bracket, but you shouldn't have to do that on your car.

well Manny does have quite a background in auto mechanics, but not me. even so, i didn't think it was all that hard to do, it's actually pretty intuitive once you start looking at the suspension itself.
you did make a good point about making sure everything is nice and tight though. i think we checked every bolt like 4 times before we put everything in (the fact that my stupid *** installed everything backwards TWICE didn't help!).

my Legacy is a '95, and it was a breeze compared to doing the same thing on a Honda (which isn't all that hard either!). there's only like 5 bolts that have to be taken off per side, and then it's just a matter of getting the damn things off the control arm without snagging the brake lines.

haha ok i was being a smartass I have changed probably 10+ springs/coil-overs... it's a cake walk
i did it myself and it came out with a reverse rake. by going to a pro, you can blame anything wrong on them, lol, jk. but its really not that hard at all if you have the right tools.
