we did mine without a spring compressor in the driveway of a friend... but i wouldnt recomend that.

its not that much time for a pro to install, so pay someone or get a friend that knows what they are doing (what i did)

definately not something you should try if you have no experience with it.

it's all good, remove back seat, there's two bolts on the bottom of the rear struts, three on top, then they are out. (and a little pin holding in the brake line). using spring compressors you can get from any kragens or autozone (you can usually rent them or borrow them leaving your license as collateral), compress springs and undo top nut. put new springs on, tighten top nut. Put in three nuts at top and two at bottom, replace seat and rear is done.

for front, remove two bolts at bottom including two small screws holding in brake components. remove three nuts at top, fronts are out. compress spring, undo top nut. put on new spring, tighten top nut. tighten top three nuts, and bottom two bolts. Replace brake lines, front is done.

then take it to get an alignment. Easy as pie. I did my first one without any experience and have done about 6 since.

remember to have a wratchet set and a closed end/opened end set. also, lock the steering wheel in place (turn it without the keys in) to make the front ones easier. Also, have a breaker bar with you, you'll need it for the bolts, specially if it is on stock suspension still.

PM me if you need nay more details.

yo man, if you decided not to go through DBTuned, i do have a set of spring compressors, and i can help you out with it. as long as you have a full wrench set (or at least as full a set as you can get your hands on), and about an hour to kill (maybe 2 hours if we just BS and take our time), it won't be a problem.

dude installing springs is a very complicated task, i wouldn't touch them if you don't have atleast 10+ years of auto mechanic history behind you... it's brutal

that sti installed his own springs and when he was driving down the road the spring reflector bearing came loose because he didn't torque it down enough and the car lost control aimlessly and went into the other thingy in the picture...

just bring it to a professional and not worry about it IMO

find some people that know how to do it and have them help. You'll never learn to work on your car if you dont start somewhere. The key is to follow the instructions step by step and dont cut any corners. If your buddy goes "nah, this is just as good" respond with "then do your car like that, we do mine by the directions"
