we hired a few "high end" contractors, one of them had this task. he's since gone now, i'm back checking his work to see just how early on in the design cycle this would have been a problem. so far, i'm seeing that it's been bunk since he started.

way to go dude and he quit here because this place was "killing his brain cells"...

That was me. Not all iPod devices work with the iPhone but the newer ones are supposed to be better about it. I haven't tried hooking the iPhone up since the 1.1 fw, but my adapter (the Subaru one for 08+ imprezas) worked just fine. Older ones or cheaper ones have a tendency not to work with the iPhone.
