I concur on Cadillac. They're not back the "the standard of the world" yet, and may never be, but they're actually trying at least. The CTS-V is pretty kickass. As for the GTO- boring-*** playskool-interior car with a fantastic drivetrain.

Yarp. agreed.
I don't hate all american cars, I hate the fact that there are few new ideas and they're trying to wrap everything in a retro wrapper and call it innovation. The C6 Z06 is a fast ******* car; the blue devil/ZR1 will be a beast, but they're not my thing. I've driven newer American cars and wasn't impressed.......that's my opinion. I was raised on Japanese and German cars; boxer motors for years and years. We had Toyota trucks. 4 of 'em.....over the last 30 years in my family. That's what works for me. I get in a new American SUV and it's amusing; the interiors are made for people who wear gloves, etc, according to GM, because a 1500 is work truck, but when you have the same layout in a 60k SUV? C'mon, it's sloppy.
And John, why would I ban you or even think less of you for expressing your opinion? Straight up, not talking ****, a Subaru board is not where you're going to find a ton of domestic lovers, that's all. No reason to bring up old **** or paint me as the "leader" of other people (who posted before I did).....
For the record: I don't like pony cars, I have yet to be impressed by an American sports car to the point where I'd want one over some of the other options on the market, and I think the current concentration the big 3 have on trucks (and I know it's what the market asks for on some levels) and other massive cars is what's going to continue to hinder them moving forward. A hybrid Tahoe?
Also for the record: I don't think less of anyone who has differing views than me on the cars they choose to spend their hard-earned money on. End of story.
