I never really posted 'em. I broke my leg pretty badly a couple of weeks ago and the surgery was to put it all back together again.

Yeah I went down at about 22mph (I backtracked my GPS to the point of the fall). My leg got trapped between my pedal and the ground as I fell. The pedal impacted at the top of my ankle and when I hit the ground it went down through my leg as my leg twisted, resulting in spiral breaks of tib/fib and a chunk off the tib at the ankle.

Good stuff

I got pretty lucky. It happened about five miles from my car, but right at the start of this private dirt road. I had met with people that morning at the top of this climb and started riding with them. Turned out one was a ski-patrol medic, one is retired CHP and then a guy rode down about 2 minutes after my wreck that happened to be an off-duty medic. As they were getting me set and trying to figure out how we'd get me out of there, a guy drives up on a quad and happens to be the owner of the dirt road we're on and offers to go get his truck. He drove me out of there back to my car, and my friend drove me to the hospital in my wagon.
