Its the largest population of arabs outside the middle east. If you were to drive through dearborn, most of the signs are bilingual - English and Arabic. And its not all Islamic Arabs either, theres a ton of Cheleadans or how ever they spell it (Christian arabs) too

According to my wife that works as a deputy investigator for the DRE, close to a third of California homes are in foreclosure.

This is what happens when the economy slows and you're stupid enough to listen to a loan shark that wants to get you into a IO/ARM. And a lot of these sharks are still in business and doing great!

Meanwhile, licensed brokers like me never once pushed an IO loan option. If my client was convinced of an IO payment, then i'd push a pick-a-payment option so I could at least sleep at night knowing they have a choice in payment. If they were still convinced of another program that was too good to be true i’d direct them elsewhere. This is after I explained interest to the bank and the add-on to the principle. These ridiculous loan programs have forced many lenders to rethink their program options. Because of this many are opting for 40+yr fix options.

I rarely do loans anymore now because it got so slow for me. I partially blame the huge IO rush. A lot of my business went to cookie-cutter loan companies and lying-*** sharks that didn’t even have a personal sales license. That said, I don’t care about anyone that’s in foreclosure. I hope their credit haunts them for the rest of their lives.

My Mom - the one that got me in the business - still does loans of all types successfully and ethically I might add. Restaurants have my time wrapped-up now.
