FWIW I have an 05 WRX (previously had an 03) and an 01 RS.
I get compliments everywhere I go in the RS. No one ever says anything about my wagon. The extra power of the WRX is nice, the AC is WAY better in the WRX and I have more room in the WRX. I like the interior better of the RS, love the sunroof and the brakes are MUCH better in the RS.
Overall, the WRX is a much more comfortable car for me to use day-to-day. It's bigger, has more power and more basic comforts inside. The RS is a more fun to drive car, IMO, and is definitely sexier. One other thing - while it may not matter now, the WRX is safer than the RS and has the LATCH child seat mounts. Something I never thought I'd care about but was happy about when I needed to
