I kinda had the same situation. I'm living with my dad right now (not for long) but as I kept speding the money for things on my car my dad told me that if I didn't stop he was gonna throw me out (but we have a bad relationship anyways). There has been other things that make him want to throw me out and there has been a lot that makes me NEED to move out (when I have the money).
Funny thing is now, with this new job that I got (pending only the phyc. test now) and that I am going to have the money to move out now, my dad in so many words told me that he does not want me to move out, he is now trying to be cool with me and not being an *** about my car and also just not being an *** anymore... its actually funny. But as soon as I get the money I'm out.

oh and Justin, You gained a lot of respect from your parents from actually doing what they said to do while still living under their roof. Not a lot of younger guys would have done what you did. Makes ya wonder what they expected you to do...

that's a tough decision, but you made the right one. when i was younger and fresh out of school, i made a isht load of money my first year and still lived with mommy and daddy since i practically lived at work. $50k base pay plus 600 hours overtime. i had a ton of fun, bought all the cool toys, and managed to save extremely little of that $$. so a year or so later, i needed to buy a house since my parents were moving to a del webb community (55 and over only) and i had nothing to put down. thank god they offered to sell me their house for market value - realtor fee's or i'd be renting an appartment now.
moral of the story, while you're making good $$ have have little to no bills, START SAVING!

after making 4 attempts to post a long, detailed post that i had to type out each time, but IE kept freezing. i am saying **** it.
thanks for the kind words guys. as much as i liked that bike, i know i did the right thing.
so to keep it short.
RandomFist: it was a 2001 1100. i didnt get to ride it because we didnt have time. but hes going to see about getting me a spot on his funeral escort crew, which would be sweet. getting paid to ride someone elses bike with lights and sirens for about 2 hours.
oh, and dont ride a SM, cause you will buy one. yesterday on salmon falls was the most fun ive had on 2 wheels. dare i say, more fun than my track day on the gixxer......
i cant imagine what it would be like on a cart track, like this track in stockton.

so yeah, i need to get another one of these things soon. oh and riding foot forward style is a little weird. i dragged my foot a lot, and a couple times it would hit the reflectors in the middle of the road which hurt like hell!
