hello, my name is OWNED, whats yours???
so i picked up a DRZ400SM today from Folsom cycle. got a good deal on it. it had a "SOLD" sign on it, but apparently it was reserved for an employee that was out of the country. anyways, he had put 63 miles on it, but didnt make a big difference to me. went out for a ride on salmon falls with a friend. had a BLAST. these bikes are AMAZING to ride. i finished scrubbing in the tires and got rid of the chicken strips, which kind of surprised me. i didnt think i would be very comfortable at all being that it was my first time in a supermoto. but whatev.
so heres where the OWEND part begins:
i get home and show my parents, they werent too happy but whatever. i mean this bike is cheaper than my Gixxer was. so i figured no big deal. went running with my dad. on the drive home from running my dad flips the **** out. about how he hates that i would make a decision like this and how he thinks that it will ruin our relationship as father and son. i kind of expected this talk and just listened, didnt argue or anything. we get home. he talks with my mom and they decide that they dont want me to live here anymore, regardless of whether im in school or what not, which has always been our agreement. as long as im doing well in school they will let me live here, but wont get involved in my finances. that was our agreement.
so i was a little taken a back, i didnt expect this reaction at all. i mean, its not like this is my first bike and i am a licensed rider. anyways he tells me that if i can get rid of the bike tomorow he will let me stay. at this point i figure, what the ****, i do LOVE this bike, but i dont want to permanantly **** up my relationship with my parents over it. so i call my friend and tell her whats going on. she is roomates with the sales person and finance dude that work at the dealership i got the bike at. she talked to them and called me back. since the bike had already been riden and was reserved for an employee, they are letting me take it back in the morning and it should be like it never happened. i am so ****ing lucky.
i told my dad this, and he was sooooo stoked that i am taking it back. he said it makes him feel good that i would do something like this to save our relationship. like it actually made him cry
so yeah, i got OWNED. yes it was not a strong financial decision, but i want to have fun while i can, and now i know EXACTLY what bike i will be getting next.
anways, on a plus side. a manager at my work rides and he has a police BMW bike that he uses when he does funeral escorts. so hes brining it to work tomorrow and hes gonna let me ride it. so ill be riding around folsom tomorrow on a Police bike, complete with lights and sirens and everything. he just said i cant use the lights and sirens
not a story im proud about, but i felt like sharring with my SRIC homies.

wow, that really sucks to hear man. Living with parents can always be a tough situation, no matter what the agreements are that are made in the beginning. Luckily my moms pretty relaxed...but then again I also dont have the money for a titan, and sti, and a bike.....but I wouldnt mind a bike..and I'm working my *** off while going to the local college....40.5 hours a week if I get the work schedule I want....although I probably wont, and I'll probably get the a schedule that will have me staying even later some nights....meaning even more overtime
anyways, sucks to hear man...and you gotta flip the sirens atleast once.....go find your dad and wait for him to leave work :rotfl:

yeah, while we did have a written agreement about this ****. i think its best that i take it back while i can. i mean, it would just cause un-nessesary tension around the home, and it is his house, so i gotta play by his rules i guess.
whatever, ill get another one of the EXACT same thing soon enough. i am officially in love with supermotos.

why don't you wait until you pay off your car? Don't get me wrong, I'm all about spending every penny of my expendible income on parts for my car, but financing another vehicle would never happen until my car is paid off, even if it is a motorbike, I felt guily enough financing my Plasma TV, even though its at 0% for the next three years. Course, I shouldn't be the one to talk about finances, I've obliterated all sense of saving money, its only recently that I've come around and established a budget for stuff.

my loan was for 5 years. 100 a month at 0% for the first 2 year. then the payments would change and there would be a 7% intrest rate after that. decent deal IMO.
