has anyone here had Lasik eye correction?

I'm thinking about getting this done and was wondering if any of you have had in the past. Any doctors stand out?

I have, but it's all the way in Mountain View. Best $ I've ever spent.

my boss who i worked for previously had great experience w/ Newman Lasik Center...

be warned, the $299/eye specials aren't always what they seem...
lasik needs retouching over time and if you throw down initially you can get it all covered for life (this is what my boss did...$800/eye w/ lifetime checkups/retouches/exams/etc)
but the $299 special was ONLY the lasik procedure, and you had to pay for the exams and any future visits and all future retouches.
something to consider when pricing it out.

he was very happy with his results...in lowlight he still had some trouble reading and if you are running long hours, i've heard eye fatigue can become a problem, especially reading and computer work.

good input... newman was one of the places i was looking at. i wouldn't risk my eyes on a discount package, not worth the risk. i'd definitely go for the lifetime package since it would probably save quite a big of money in the future.

Make sure you go to a place alot of people you know has gone too and has had success with. A friend of mine went to another place and he was screwed up for over a year. I went to an expensive place, but had a very good reputation. I paid about $1500 per eye then. That's with the chinky eye discount. ^_^ I didn't have to use the Wavefront since I had small pupils. Wavefront was about $5,000 then at that place.

Why do you want to have it done? Just asking because I sort of looked into it, but I like my glasses too much

Just because I wore British Knights back in the day before they were trendy doesn't make them cool........Besides, if I can't tease you, who's left?

And I haven't sucked *** since college, and I needed the money.
