Good place to get tires?

Where do you guys go for tires around here? Any recommendations on a reasonably priced decent tire? I dont neccesarily have to have the best tires, just something decent enough. Looking for 235/40/17 mounted balanced and roll ready.

Thanks!

I like Americas Tire. Mounted/balanced and out the door for a decent price. You can also get the road hazards for a small amount, so if you flatten a tire beyond repair, it's free (I've used one road hazard so far and it's paid for all of the road hazards I've ever purchased).

I usually go to the one on Arden.

tirerack has very good prices, but it seems like most local tire shops really stick it to you on mounting charges.

like matt says, americas tire has good prices and their road hazard insurance is awesome.
i've had decent experiences with Big-O but i know a bunch of people who've had bad experiences.

all you really need is one flat and it pays for itself in the end. Definately a good deal to get that program. One thing i was wondering was what exactly do they do to make both sides of the tires even if you were to replace one? do they shave it down to match? hopefully you can answer this sonicsuby

I already talked to you yesterday about my hookup with Quick Fit Tires. If you want to go with them, let me know so that I can tell him to hook you up.

let me know when you want it and ill call them up and tell them you are coming.

just as a reference as to how much they charge, and this is not intended to be an advertisement. i got the Hankook Ventus K102 245/40/17 tires, mounted, balanced, locking lugnuts, the whole shebang for $380. They do other tire brands so just tell me what brand and i'll see what i can do.

Honestly I'm not sure. When I had the tire replaced it was on my s14 so it wasn't a concern. When I almost had to have a tire replaced on my WRX, they were going to replace all four. I imagine I would have had to pay something to get all four replaced since only one tire was jacked, but I likely would have spoken with their manager to see if he could work something out. I've purchased probably 8 or 9 sets of tires from Americas Tire now and I'd be sure to point that out if they tried to charge me full price.

$380 is cheap man! I went to 2 places yesturday, Les Schwabb and Firestone and $500 was the lowest price I got for the size I want.

Topnotch, can you find out what other tires they can get in 235/40/17?

Thanks for the advice guys. I will stop by an Americas Tire sometime and see what they have.
