I've had 17 sets of wheels on my car. Rays. Prodrives. OZ's. BBS's. Rotas. Some of my Rotas were my favorite wheels. If the Formula Meshes make you happy, go for it, you can get different colors, and **** the people hating on it becuase they're not BBS's or whatever.

Personally, I was on a "mad JDM" kick; looking at my car, pretty much everything that can be replaced with a Japanese equivalent besides bumpers has been. I've got trick stuff on it that no other Leg in the US has. Then, I went to Japan. I looked at OEM Leggie's and realized how stupid it was to try and swap every part, as it still wouldn't be the same, so I just said **** it and went with what I liked.

I hear ya on the exhaust and stuff. Lips get trashed, so noone's gonna fault you for replica parts on a DD, etc.

Saying you want an S203 look works. The car looks hot from the factory. I guess all I'm saying is that it's a good diea to have a plan of where you want the car to go and build towards that in stages, and it sounds like you're on the right track to building what *you* want, which is all that matters.
Yeah i think i just went on a mad JDM WOOHOO craze and now luckily i am coming down from it before i got too far into it. I am just realizing that yeah i could probably afford all the JDM parts but i will be in major debt for them all and be wondeirng why the hell i spent so much money on parts i dont really need.

Thanks for making me see another side to the story it really did help, see all it took was a civilized person with a level head and real world knolwedge to help.

I think i am going to get the exhaust authentic and thats about it, like you said about the lip it gets F'ed up so why spend $1000+ for a lip that will get damaged. After i spend all the money to get all authentic parts i would have had enough to import a S203 two times over.

so back to exhausts... a true jdm setup would be to swap to the jdm sti downpipe which only has one cat. this will also cause warranty problems because it's not US spec equipment, and it will also be illegal. and since it has a OE spec cat in it, it's still a restriction.

since you have the means to swap the exhaust yourself, go for some good stuff. if you're over the 100% jdm authentic kick, i HIGHLY recommend a stromung 3" twin tip setup. looks stock, sounds a little more aggressive than stock at idle and cruising. at WOT it sounds beastly. whatever setup you go with, go full 3" for max power gains. personally, i'd go with a high perf. cat. it's still illegal but nowhere near as harmful as catless.

Yeah i personally really really really really like Tanabe. I was thinking of getting the Tanabe Touring medalion and the Tanabe Catted DP. It has a super slim canister and looks averagly stock, and damn does it sound good. I had Tanabe on my WRX and was absolutly in love with it and defiantly miss it.

I had a Stromung DP and liked the gains i got from it with my previous Tanabe set up and liked the gains i got from it, and it wasnt even bellmouth!

Im still not sure if i want to sell my S203 exhaust or keep it. I think i might just keep it and get a Cobb DP and a Cobb midpipe.

What if you cut off the pipe entering the muffler, hole-sawed it out to 3", and had a muffler shop weld in a stub of 3" pipe to match a new midpipe? Is that doable? Just an idea.

cobb midpipe has a 3" outlet on it. i dont think that'll fit that s203 axleback, and I know I'd hate to cut something that expensive.

That and Titanium takes a special time of cuting and welding.

totally forgot about the 3" outlet problem....hmmm....maybe get the TurboXS DP and Midpipe since it is made for a 2.5" axleback.

Oops, didn't realise that thing was made of titanium! Guess that's why chri5 cringed at the cut-n-splice job.
