For pure street, or for agressive street/summer only?

I'm not a baller, but all we're hearing is good things about the new Azenis Sport 615's; better wet grip and lower noise than the 215's, and the 215's were pretty much the benchmark, along with 070's, for streetable sticky tires until you start talking about things like RA1's.
Plus, they're avialable in some of the in-between sizes, though you have a rim that will take a 245 and I'd suggest it for rim protection alone.

+1 just the SS lines and ATE fluid made a huge difference on my wrx. the slushbox is much harder on the brakes due to lack of engine braking. i had taken my car on numerous back roads in the auburn/colfax and placerville/apple hill area both before and after those brake upgrades. i got a lot less fade after the lines and fluid.

And of course they jacked up the pricing on the 615's so they cost as much as my A032R's. I'll start looking at some tires soon.

The new Hankook Ventus R-S2's look promising. I'll have a set mounted by thursday.

Specifications:
Treadwear: 200
Traction: A
Temperature: A
Speed Rating: ZR

Those are competing directly with the RT215/RT615 to be the autocross Street Tire of choice. sperry up here in Reno is running a set, no complaints so far, and he's been competitive on them. The only potential knock on them is that they may not be able to handle heat as well as the Azenis tires due to the tread pattern, but wet handling will be better and the heat issue is irrelevant on the street pretty much. Besides, the price is right.

The price is right, $104 per tire.

$95 each plus shipping for 225/45R17. I think 235/40s can be had for $104 shipped as well. That's what sperry paid anyway.

$104 each at Americas Tire Co for 235/40/17, $495.24 gets you all 4 mounted, balanced and warranted.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me.
