Some counties have different inspection requirements (some have none) for registration. They aren't exempt from state or federal emissions laws. Just less likely to get caught.

No seriously. Check it out. If you buy a new car in Humboldt (or where ever and bring it home a reg it) it never needs to be smogged. Why? It was smogged new. That's why. BOYAKSHA!

100k in the whole county and Idk how many square miles there are but it's a butt load!

LA County you have to be smogged on a rolling dyno!

S.F. County is a sniffer.

ect......

You only have half the story. You do not need to go to a smog station in order to register the car, but ALL California and Federal smog laws still apply to you. You can be cited for emissions violations, you can be sent to a state referree, and your car can be impounded for violations.

Um thanks but I knew all that stuff. Super for you to tell me though

My point is I don't get my car inspected.

My point was that you are just as affected by smog laws as the rest of California, it is just more convenient for you to break them. Your post would hint to others reading it that some counties are exempt from smog laws, which would be incorrect.
