ISO 100, Aperture Priority, shutter speeds ranged from 1/750 - 1/2000

Looking closer at my pictures, it looks like only the really long distance shots were kind of blurry.

If you check out this pic and go to the original-size version you'll see what I'm talking about, it's almost a hazy look. I also did a lot of clean-up (color/contrast/sharpening).

I'm not surprised by that, it's far away and the object(s) you're trying to focus on are moving. Unless you're doing manual focus, I don't expect that to come out sharp as hell. Plus there are other objects in the picture, so if you're using auto-focus, it could trip up the camera.

Yeah I was just using noob-focus with a wide aperture f/5.6. I thought I read somewhere that zoom lenses have a "sweet spot" where at a certain zoom the pictures come out the best.

Plus that shot is underexposed. I also struggled with that because of some weird lighting.
