They tried to get me when I drove home from SFO on 11/14. However, my friend Mr. Valentine saved me. Too bad for the speeding Yukon though... he should have known something was up when I slowed down.

My Sporttrac is speed limited at 98mph.
CHP was in his usual spot on the onramp on I-80 just after Vacaville. They catch all of the people still carrying speed form the previous hills. The onramp is downhill and they catch up real quick. This is before you get to Redtop Rd.

i know that area...it's at the top of the grade between 12 junction & Vallejo...
they hit ppl both ways there...
seen them get off Westbound, cross the freeway & pull up behind 2-3 other squad cars in the wiats on the Eastbound side...
I always watch my speed thru there...
US50 is hot too...
if you're going to Tahoe over the weekend watch yourselves coming back.
on the WB side of 50 just past Camino Heights (about a mile past where it turns to 55 mph)on the downhill section coming into placerville, around the bend where the sushi place is they will sit 1-2 cars deep waiting for hits...
i think they post there because the speed limit goes from 65 to 55 and it's on the dowhill slope...
so most ppl are still carrying their 70-75+ speed thru that section...
85 in a 55 is a hefty ticket! CHP gets PAID!

tried that in a yeller NSX....
didn't work so hot...
85 in a 70 in the company vehicle wasn't so nice...
but better than the 95+ my co-worker got in the NSX he was driving at the same time.
and way better than the 110+ we were pushing outside of Sac.

actually...plane can legally pace you....
and the squad car can not use radar & they have to write it up as the citing officer who is in the plane is the "arresting officer".
about only way to beat airplane tickets is if it says both radar & airplane...or the officer who pulled you over puts his badge # and name as the siting/arresting officer.

I thought there was the issue that the officer in the plane has to sign the ticket, or the officer that signed it on the ground has to pace/radar you as well
If the officer on the ground does not verify your speed, you can get off the ticket. I remember the big stink about this a few years back when everyone was getting out of airplane tickets by pleading not guilty and then asking the officer that signed the ticket how he determined your speed.
he will say he didn't because he did not pace you, the plane did. There was a statue to cite in Court that states the officer signing the ticket is the issuing officer, and the one responsible for determining the speed of the vehicle, and cannot use outside testimony from another officer ( IE plane that actually clocked you)
I will see if I can dig up all the info on it
EDIT:
here is some info on it
