The camera doesn't matter, the photographer does.
Minolta doesn't make cameras anymore. They sold them to Sony over a year ago.
If you want a point and shoot, grab a Casio. Good features for the price.
If you want a SLR, buy which ever you can afford - Pentax, Nikon, Canon, they are all the same. Nikons are easier to use, Canons ergonomics suck. Canon markets the crap out of their cameras, but Nikon and Canon have equal market share.
If you want image quality, you'll buy a film camera, but I don't think thats what you want.

Look at all the Canon punks, I got a Nikon D50, sturdy 6.1 dslr. Too bad it was it was replaced by the d40, if you had the money i say get a d80, but if you dont want to spend that much get a canon. Iv posted these pics else where but sharing is caring

oh btw.. here's some shots from the meet tonite.
stupid yellow lights.... had to change the coloring to bw on most of them to compensate for the stupid yellow. and i'm too dumb to use photoshop to eliminate the yellow... so bw the easiest way to go.
