Cali Drivers Beware *edit* confirmed rumor

Missing license plates (front or rear) will no longer be fix-it tickets. Rumors are brewing that as of January 1st this violation will be a POINT on your driving record.

Just a heads up. Mine will be installed on New Years Eve.

I had a conversation with a San Jose SWAT dude about it and he didn't denounce it. I'm gonna' search around the web a bit.

If its a new law going into effect, it better not be a "rumor"

Why would they make an equipment issue involve a point - points on your license are used for moving violations/accidents. And yeah, law, valid source or BS

there would be something a little more concrete about a law 5 days before it goes into affect than just something you heard from a swat guy

Listen, pig-basher, it's not the police, it's the Socialist Democrats on K Street that are doing this.

What about people with Mercedes roadsters that don't have a front bracket?

But you can't blame them for enforcing the law. Ultimately it's the lawmakers who make the law.

Ok, don't flame too much guys. This is why I said it was a RUMOR and just wanted to give a heads up. I called the CHP office in Sacramento and have confirmed the point thing is just a rumor.
The officer did confirm that they will be," cracking down heavily on cars without properly displayed plates."

Sorry for the uproar, there is always a little bit of truth to rumors and I got skeered. My record is messed up already..lol
