If you touch your engine in any way shape or form, it needs a 50 state legal Carb EO # or else, guess what you WILL get a ticket

Not true, but a blow off is illegal.

A BOV that is not CARB Exempt is illegal. Good luck finding one that has an EO though.

Why are they stoopid? Do they help in any way or do they just make an annoying sound?

If you have a car that already has a turbo and it uses a MAF then it probably already has a bypass valve. In that cas a blow off valve (or a bypass that vents to atmosphere) isn't needed.

But if you take a car and add a turbo to it and it doesn't use a MAF then adding a BOV is usually easier than adding a bpyass valve. In that case I'm all for a BOV.

Or if you run a fmic, you're going to have to run an 100% atmosphere or 50/50. It complements the bling!
