Bought a new computer

Tired of PC/IBM so I bought an Apple. 12" iBook w/1GB DDR333 & 80GB Ultra ATA Drive. Also got a lacie 160GB external hard drive with 1 USB and 2 Firewire interfaces. Keep all my computers clean by filling that biatch up.

Hopefully I'll eventually phase-out my other computers for Apples if I like them enough.

Anyone else use an Apple? Do you like it?

There's no shame in my game. So long as that metro pile of silicon doesn't freeze or have some critical error every two seconds I’ll be very happy.

I run both.

Also program on windows GUI's for a living, yet prefer the Apple by far (execpt that mine is slow, and they are expensive to replace ).

Anyways, good choice on the Apple. It may take some time to get used to the UI, but its worth it. I know a lot of MS-centric people have trouble with non-windows UIs, but I think you'll be smart enough to get the hang of it. Its really very elegant once you get it down.

Yeah, I got the 3yr warranty which was $200 and the computer at those specs was $1250. Not as bad as I thought, really... considering it’s not uncommon to find a handful of mid-grade $1500 notebooks at your local electronics stores. But yes, they did have some expensive ones that I couldn’t justify buying. If I like the iBook I may get a Mini as I have a computer-less flat screen sitting here.

Yes, but a UI that is designed around a one button mouse is very elegant.

The world of windows has ruined everyone to rely on context menus, which aren't inherient to most users (only the supposed "power users"). Context menus should only be support or shortcuts, not the only link to primary features.

Besides, that argument is kinda old now that Apple has released a multi button mouse.

Please kid, if you want to discuss UI design aspects, feel free, but leave your tired and old Apple-bashing "arguments" at the door.

Honestly I haven't used a Mac long enough to have a fair opinion about it, and since I was raised DOS/Windows, I'm used to context menus.

And chill out, it was a joke, jeez.

P.S. Mac sux0rz!11

I am chill. How did you get the opinion that I wasn't?

Take a few deep breaths, and don't take everything I write on the internet seriously.
