any clue as to what numbers you're putting down? i've heard that the cobb maps are very mild, but the thing thats holding me back from getting an accessport is the price of them....if i find one cheap, ill get it..

COBB maps suck *****, half of them are HORRIBLE. Gotta realize they are a 'generic' map, that is suppose to be tuned safe so that all cars that use the map make decent power and don't run like complete ***. Problem is all cars are COMPLETELY different and they need some tweaking. I have heard about some COBB maps pulling max timing and pinging like hell(i.e. ask Mr. Furley)

The cobb map is crappy & im not exactly sure of what im putting down, probably in the 250whp range which is the same as a stock Sti.

My best ET was a 12.90 so 250whp seems about right.

so he tune's opensource? nice...
i've seen some threads about dbtuned and all but wasnt sure they tuned...do they have a dyno?

basically for now ill be running a stage 1 map from my friend until i sell my 05 and have some money to drop on a turbo. im going to aim for something bigger like an 18g or something along those lines, but if that doesnt work ill just throw in a vf39. so paul would be able to tune my 07 WRX tr w/ i/tbe/sti tmic and vf39? that would be great......

what trap speed? just curious.....
and 250whp from a generic map doesnt sound all that bad but i see what people are saying: with a custom tune not only will i make better numbers, but it should be more reliable as well as much cheaper.....

ya paul doesn't know computers that well, and he has only worked with Windows XP as far as I know. I don't think he will have much luck with open source
