its like, how do you respond when a parent asks "isn't he the cutest baby you ever saw?" and the baby is hella ugly. I never know what to say. I'm thinking, "hmm is it a boy or a girl or a monkey..."

I would say that ugly babies are loved the same as any other baby, only because the parents love it no matter what it looks like. They just may not be loved as much from other people looking at it.
