Nothing. It is the end of an era. BBC now has to start from scratch, find 3 new presenters as well as new direction because they cannot recreate the old chemistry and continuity. I just hope BBC doesn't actually think this won't affect the show's 11ntyBillion viewers and advertising revenues...Oh well...

James May summed it up nicely...

I’m sure Top Gear will continue in some way, it existed before us. It’s been re-formatted several times, but exactly how...

"Much as I think he’s a ****, I quite like working with Jeremy." ~ James May

Sums up his opinion quite well.

If I was a network, I'd hire all three and start a show similar... Easy revenue and you know the show has a demographic. Might not be as successful but it wouldn't be a total loss

Good idea. I would personally switch in a heartbeat while BBC gets their act together with their TG re-boot. It is hard to beat those three for good comic relied at the end of a stressful day.

I agree, however one thing that I feel is being overshadowed is the level of production and staff that TG have. Our strongest relation was the presenters, however the cinematography and overall production level of the show often gets overlooked.

Being able to show off the cars the way the crew did in TG would be a big part of their success or demise.

American TG had some potential but they spend all their time on 'adventure' or 'challenges" and completely missing the interactive portion of sit-down and audience interaction.

I didn't find TG-US that funny compared to TG-UK

That's because TG UK actually shows an hour of programming...BBC America airings are ~90 minutes long to include the necessary commercials. TG US barely has 1/2 hour of actual programming after you remove the constant recaps and advertisements. So they are only left with time for adventures/challenges.

The actual TG US is purely challenges. Much worse than the stripped BBC America version of TG UK.

Thats the problem with TG US. The lack of any interactivity. I am beginning to prefer Fifth gear because they actually have something worthwhile to say. Although it seems somewhat dated in their presentation they still have actual reviews of cars and a way to connect to the viewer.
