Nothing is wrong with Nikon. Both Canon and Nikon are great choices, but once you pick one and start buying glass you are pretty much stuck with that brand.

What made the decision for me (besides the dirt cheap deal I got on my first dSLR) is that Canon makes all the important parts to their cameras in house while Nikon outsources some of theirs. I believe that it is a lot easier to make the pieces play nice with each other when they are all made in house.
