i know, i know it's not a subie...(it's in the works)
but the hatch of my teg swallows 2 bikes w/o the front wheels off and we still have room for two up front plus all our gear & a small cooler.
it's doubled as a truck countless times...
things a trooper...
kills my buddy who has a BroncoII and has to pull off his seat & front wheel for his bike to fit in the back...i just laugh at him and lift my bike out.
that's why i have a feeling i'll need a wagon (Impreza or Forester) when i jump ship to the AWD cult.

Only started again 3 months ago(off the bike for 3 years) Usually one or two rides (mon/wed)a week at salmon falls or auburn. Actually heading to Downieville this weekend, camping there sat. BTW, any kart(HPV 100) racers in the area, tired of being the only subaru at the track(Praire City)

I have my 93 wagon L conversion that can hold 3 bikes (piled on each other). I'm planning on getting a small hitch for the wagon, and use the bike carrier that I have.
We're going to have to figure out a time to all meet up and where to ride. I was kind of thinking of the trail loop off of Foresthill road (Don't know the name of it). My folks live in Foresthill so I have passed the trail many time and always wanted to ride it, just never had the excuse.
SInce I'm just starting up again after many years of neglect, I was hoping to the ride would be at a level to get my body back into the feel of riding a bike (without being out for a week afterwords due to stiff/pulled muscles).
Since there's definately interest. Lets start shooting out when's and where's.

hitting Olmstead Loop tomorrow...
going with a couple buddies of mine if anyone else wants to join in...
we'll be out there around 8:30-9:00 on saturday.
weather should make for cooler conditions and a nice morning ride out in the foothills.
if we get done in time, we may try to ride another short trail close by if anybody has recommendations (maybe Stagecoach/Mazanita?)?
trying to be done by noon-ish (got a honey-do list at home waiting).
hit me in the privates ( < that one's for you Egan
) if anyone wants to meet up.
none of us are olympic athletes and i'm the bigboy of the bunch (180lbs)...but we'll have fun none the less.

well...Olmstead Loop is fun!
a boat load of horse crap EVERYWHERE!
had to use the hose at the parking area to rinse off the crap [literally] from my bike before i put it into my car.
we went counter clockwise, (entered across from fire station)...
don't know which way would be better...
either way you'll have a good climb or two.
i walked a couple spots (reasons being #1. couldn't get into my lowest gear up front cuz my derailuer was being a piece of crap & #2. i'm out of shape & need to ride more frequently!)
overall a fun trail...goona go back again for sure...
there is tons of options...we took a few side trails.
ended up being a really good day to ride too!
Thanks Egan for the linky!!!

Across from the fire station is the correct way to go. Every once in a while you'll see someone going the other way, but it's rare.
There's one steep, rocky climb on the first half that I almost always have to walk. I've made it once or twice, but that's it. One time I fell off the bike into poison oak, so now I just walk.
The rest of the trail is rideable, unless the creek crossing is really full.
