For All You Newlyweds & Married Guys
Just recently I proposed to my gf and now we are engaged. We have talked about when we would like to get married and are thinking of sometime in April or May of 2011. I know we still have some time but we would like to get things started and take care of as much as we can.
So I was wondering if anyone knows of some great locations, photographers, florists, DJ's and what not. We're not having a huge wedding probably about 100 people or so.
We googled sacramento wedding locations and there are a few that we are interested in but I just wanted to see if anyone in the SRIC had some good ideas or hook up's...
We are trying to stay in Sacramento but would consider as far as Lincoln, El Dorado Hills and surrounding areas.
Thank you

I suggest you stand back and let the lady take care of everything. That's going to be the way it goes. In case you haven't figured it out, it's her wedding. Your only job is to nod you head and say "I do". You'll thank me for it later.

I have to disagree with you there. Dont step back.. Be attentive. If she gives you a task make sure you put effort into it. Then additionally pick just one thing to contribute and make it count. It is HER wedding and she will remember how you conducted yourself in the months up until the event.
Nodding your head is attentive. She's known how her wedding was going to turn out since she was 6. You're not going to change that. Hence, nod and agree and move on.
Not true. I'm 25 and all I can tell you about my wedding is: I'll be in a white dress of some sort, it will be on Donner Lake, the food will be good, and there will be an open bar.

When i got married in 2000 we spoke about the things she already wanted and I offered to fill in the blanks. She was surprised that i wanted to participate, gave me some pretty easy tasks which i completed fairly quickly. I then did a few extra things as a surprise to make it special to her. It may sound cheezy but that is one occasion where it is ok to be just that. Everyone is different. It is about communication. Some woman want the man to step back.. Some women will be offended by that. Communicate.

If you are looking for something a bit more rural looking, I'd recommend the Flower Farm Inn in Loomis. http://flowerfarminn.com/
My fiance and I actually just signed the contract for that place for next year too. The one potential downside is that they make you fill out all the hotel rooms there (7 total) for the night before and the night of. For us its not a big deal since we'll have enough people traveling, but if everyone is local, it could be an unneeded cost. So far they've been great to work with.

I will def. get in contact with Tim, his photo's look really good.
The Julia Morgan House looks nice but... The Julia Morgan House is no longer in use due to budget constraints (according to the website)
We like the Vizcaya Pavillion & Mansion and the Grand Island Mansion in walnut Grove
but thank you for all the help.

Well we just got married, but not here in Ca.
We were originally thinking of Maidu Park in Roseville. They have a large hall and could do an inside or outside ceremony. http://www.roseville.ca.us/parks/par...ional_park.asp
Her sister has been thinking about getting married on the Sac River on the Delta King http://www.deltaking.com/
Then we also just went to our friends wedding last Sept in Auburn at Raspberry Hill Gold Course right off 80 and Bell rd. I think they had around 75 ppl there? http://www.razberryhill.com/group_events.htm
