Im trying to replace the Air filter on my 99 impreza L. But i can not get the box open. I see 3 clamps, but no open, just a crack. I can see other hoses and junk, but i want to make sure im not missing somthing before i start taking stuff apart. Any one know how to do this the right way? Thanx

 

There's probably one more clamp near the bottom corner of where the two halves come together. Either that or an 8 or 10mm bolt screwed into it somewhere.

Got it! Yeah you were right, there was a little stay bar conected to the box by a screw. But my new filter does not fit. It seems subaru made two different airboxes for the EJ22 and i have the bigger one. The site i orderd the filter from just registerd the smaller one for the vehicle. So ill have to wait some more for the right one. But at least i can get it open now. Thanx again dude.
