Thanks for the info!

In my head I hope it's salvaged... and hope it's not salvaged. I want it salvaged because that means, no more payments, easier life through college, and dragging my friends around because i had a sedan. And i also want to keep it because it makes a subaru, a subaru.

Actually the way it happened, I didn't even know the damage existed and I had no idea it was showing up on a carfax. When I traded my car in, they didn't do a carfax before giving me full value for the car (I got something like $16k for it on trade) and it was only later that I found out from the dealership that they couldn't resell the car due to the carfax report of frame damage. Had they never told me about it, I never would have known it was there. They weren't too worried about it though - the night they told me about the damage, I happened to be in there with my mother helping her pick out a brand new LGT sedan and I heard later that they got a good value for the car at wholesale auction

Just got off the phone with the adjuster. Things are going well. All they needed was a brief conversation about what happen at the scene. The car WILL have a lifetime guarentee body from G and S collision. I asked her about the carfax report and bent uni-body and about lower resale value. She told me not to worry about it because I can back it up with the lifetime body work.

Car is not going to be salvaged. "It was a hairpin away from being salvaged", she told me.
Right now the $500 deductible is on my responsibility, until they get word from the truck's (guy who hit me) insurance company. I hope the other guy will pay for my deductible.

when I have gotten blasted before, my insurance company covered the deductible until the other insurance company paid up.

you pay your insurance company for a reason, make sure to use them

too bad he hit so many people, it's possable his coverage is maxed out and every one will be paying some out of pocket.

I think its per occurrence, so each auto he hit gets covered with his limits.

I believe its the property damage that gets maxed out

That could take a while. A good insurance company fronts you the money and goes after the other company for repayment.

Allstate didn't hand over my deductible with the initial claim... but I didn't care. I trusted dealing with them more than Nationwide, the other person's insurance in my last acident, and they owe me a deductible anyway since the whole thing is settled.

Speaking of, I still haven't seen that check... :rotfl: Need to make a phone call tomorrow...
