Accident at the gas station

I was involved with the accident in the gas station on the corner of Stockon blvd and 65th yesterday afternoon around 12:30 or so.

How did it happen?
A ford harley truck (supercharge) ran a redlight from 65th passing stockton blvd hit a car in the intersection and another car rammed him from behind *dont know how that happend*, but at that time I was at the gas station talking to my friends. We first heard the BANG then turned around seeing the truck still on gas heading towards us... I looked at my friend straight in the eye and looked back at the truck... at this moment I thought to myself if I should run to my car and start it and drive off.. but I ran for my life. The truck literly missed me by a foot when I ran. I looked back and I saw the truck hit my silver TR and then my friends 91 Mr2 and then a gas pump. My friend was still inside hiw Mr2 while being rear ended by the truck. The gas pump caught on fire and thats when I ran back to see if my friend got out of his car. Luckily he was out... The fire calmed down and the gas attendent turned off all the fuel.

Police came *blah blah insurance ... blah blah..*

My car was towed to Eagle Towing and then brought to GS collusion. My insurance took care of everything pretty quick.

Damages?

5 Cars. My friends Mr2 = rear end - totaled. My 06 Tr = rear end, 2 quater panels trunk/bumper/lights (GS collusion says its fixable, damage worth 5-6k)
Other cars are unknown.

Reason why the truck driver ran a red light?

He told the police that he recently took the car from ford for a cruise controll recall and it kept on speeding no matter how hard he hit the brakes.

Il post pictures as soon as I find my fone and when my arm feels better because I smacked a pole or gas pump trying to run for my life...

ps if you guys watched fox40 at 10 last night, you would of seen the whole thing.

It looks repairable. I wouldn't expect it to get totalled.

or just turned off the car.

or maybe if he was already having issue he shouldn't be driving it. Sounds like he couldn't afford his payment and was looking for a scapegoat.

its wonderful when we can all sit back and second guess what someone did

I doubt this person was in this situation several times before and was well trained on what to do. More then likely he panicked and had no clue

If your moving throwing it in neutral doesn't help, hell putting it in park doesn't help stuck throttles suck

If the problem was actually a stuck throttle, then putting it in neutral would certainly help if you had the presence of mind to do so. The problem with vehicles like a supercharged Ford Lightning is that the drive wheels have far more torque coming from the engine than the brakes have, so not only was it impossible to slow it down, the front wheels were probably locked up and not giving him any ability to steer.
