LA PAZ, Bolivia (AP) — A California man who adopted the name of a fictional vampire has been sentenced to 30 years in prison without parole for killing two people in hotel bombings, the government news agency and an attorney who attended the sentencing said Wednesday.
Triston Jay Amero, 26, and his former girlfriend were convicted Tuesday of killing two people by setting off dynamite in two low-rent hotels in the Bolivian capital in 2006, according to the state’s ABI news agency and Javier Albarracin, an attorney for the victims and owner of one of the bombed hotels.
Amero often calls himself Lestat Claudius de Orleans y Montevideo, after a character in Anne Rice’s vampire novels.
The Placerville man, in and out of psychiatric hospitals and California juvenile prisons since he was 7 years old, has frequently threatened suicide and violence against authorities, according to court documents.
In his travels through South America, Amero has described himself as a Saudi Arabian lawyer, a pagan high priest, a notary public and even a vampire.
Amero was convicted of bombing an automatic cash machine in northern Argentina before he arrived in Bolivia.
Prison officials last year said Amero tried to attack his own attorney with a kitchen knife.
A search of his cell turned up a bottle of gasoline and Americo confessed that he planned to “set fire to the prison superintendent and the United States diplomat who visits him every now and then,” prison security director Edgar Andrade told reporters.

WBC does give Christians a bad name...I don't agree with the gay lifestyle, but I'm not going to protest a funeral, it's a little late to be trying to preach to the dead person. That person has already made their choices in life. What point are they trying to make other than making the world think they're a bunch of lunatics.
Seriously, wtf? You're talking about a guy with a wife and child.

Omission of argument or differentiating point = implicit agreement.
Hence the misunderstanding.
Be careful about painting yourself with broad strokes by not differentiating yourself more. One of the reasons I don't identify with a specific Christian religion is that I don't want the negative connotations, deserved or not, that any group confers on the wider, more rational base.
But hey, my old church had no problem with gay ministers either, because it's people's actions toward others that matter, not their personal beliefs.
The point I was making is that it's twice as retarded that it's a role he played that they're discussing, not his sexuality, but it's WBC, so it was never about belief anyways.
