How well do WRX hold up in the snowy states?

I'm looking for a bugeye wagon and seeing if I should worry about rust on these cars. Since it's an AWD, I bet it's drive in the snow!

If there is, what should I look out for?

Personally my wrx is from the east coast and has rust spots in a lot of places. PB blaster becomes your friend with these cars lol

 

Rear fender just above the bumper is a common spot. My gf's bugeye is rusting there. Mine has a few years left considering it's spent most of its life in the south.

 

Thanks. I have plans to check out a WRX next Monday so I will look into the rear bumper / fender.

 

I am 60 and I have never seen snow so I am not an expert on these things but isn't it the "salt" that they put on the roads that prevent ice from forming that causes the rust. I know imported cars from the northern islands of japan often have rust problems..
