New Law

Have you guys heard about this? It was passed about 6 months ago, but they're going to start enforcing it now. It says that on any highway with 3 or more lanes, you can only use the far left lane for passing. A 3 point violation, coupled with a $35 fine is how they're enforcing.

Thoughts?

I kinda like it. I guess it could bite you if you're in the wrong place and a cop wants to give you a ticket, but ultimately i think WAY too many people park their slow butt in the left lane and screw up traffic.

I'm with Kevin. It'll certainly help out the flow of traffic. It'll keep the slow asses out of the fast lane. Hopefully it gets enforced.

Yeah, but now you "fast asses" are required to go into the right lane as well, unless currently engaged in passing.

Very Happy to hear about this. I have always wanted this law to exist. In Europe, the fast lane is treated like a passing lane. Here in the U.S., too many mini-vans are just cruising along.

3 points is a bit harsh. Should be one point violation.

You call me a "fast ***?" I drive a wagon. I'm not the one with an STi.

True, but I'll just stay in the second from the left lane, and if the person in front of me isn't going fast enough, then I'll get in the left lane and pass them. Pretty simple. I like it.

And you bought a G35

'You have one hell of a Garage now:
2005 Impreza STi (brand new)
2004 G35x (brand new looking)

compared to:
2003 Forester X (beat up)
1991 Legacy LS (blown motor, and outside has more dents than the surface of the moon has craters)

G35x is srtictly temporary....stupid wrist and being broken. also, being broke sucks.

But having a former SCCA racer as your dad, you get perks. 4 words....Bob Bondurant's Racing school!

What, so you have a G35 and an STi? As if I wasn't jealous of just the STi enough...

Happy birthday!!! I know I'm late, but you know what they say.
