Norcal Track Day listing
Something I put together to make it easier to find a track day in Norcal. I put this together for myself for fun mostly, but I thought other people might find it useful also:

Glad you guys find this useful!
Maybe when I have time I'll try to add more on the different tracks, clubs and whatnot to make it more more noob friendly. Lots of clubs have good pages on prepping for your first track day I should link to those.
I've run as a beginner with NCRC, NASA and HOD and the experiences are different with each club, which I suspect is why their events cost different amounts.
NASA and HOD are more hands on and you get to have an instructor with you in the vehicle which is probably part of why they are pricier. The instructors are pros and you'll learn a lot and have an awesome time. HOD seems to have smaller run groups which is probably why they charge more than NASA.
NCRC does different exercises to get you acquainted with driving on a track and the etiquette involved(passing, point bys, flags) but you don't get an instructor in the car. You can pay extra for an instructor however it's not included in the base price. This is both good and bad, you'll probably learn to be aware of flags/other cars more quickly, however you might pick up some bad habits if you're not careful.
Anyway hope that helps, the danger with doing track days is not so much that you'll have a bad time but rather that you'll get hooked and that before you know it you sell all your wordly possessions to get a race car move up from open track days/hpde to full on racing
