Nor-Cal Roadrace every thursdays for only $75!!!

I just went to Altamont Raceway this last thursday and it was a blast! I had so much track time within a few hours I was beat. Only 3 other cars were out on the track. Track is open from 2-9 PM.

Altamont Raceway is about 10 minutes past Livermore. Last year the track was bought out and the whole track was redone. They setup a very nice configuration in the center of the track where you can do what they call autocross. Some people do drift there but you can do what you like. It is not a timed event. Helmet is required.

Well their Autocross configuration is actually 1.1 miles. According the their schedule the next one is on 5/3, but usually they are every Thursdays. Hope to see some of you guys out there next time. PCA has events there.

Wow that's a crazy deal! How was the inner (auto-x) track and how did you fare in terms of tire wear?

$75 to play around and learn some car control at a semi-track day event, hmm... may have to take a half day off work and check it out. I am racing at Altamont on July 7th and 8th for the 24 hours of lemons so it would be cool to go check it out a little.

hey i was just reading this post and i think this is awesome. i have been looking for a place like this to go to. i usually run mount hamilton 3 times a week to get my driving in. but this sounds like a more fun and safe way to practice. how do you sign up? do you have to call or make a appointment ahead of time or do you go there and pay. i have some buddies that might be interested in it also.

Looks good, do you run the track yourself and then next person or is it everyone on the course at one time?

That's cool. Maybe that is something I could do in the summer.
