Laguna Seca track day on Nov 2nd, only $285!

Laguna Seca here we come!!!

Come on out to Laguna Seca with Leadfoot Adventures and T.E.A.M Racing
on Thursday Nov 2nd for a great track day at this world-famous road
course! T.E.A.M. and Leadfoot Adventures are known for their low cost -
high value events, and this one is no exception! Registration is only
$285 and will open at Motorsportsreg.com Wednesday night Oct 11. This
event is expected to fill up quickly since Laguna events are hard to get
into and usually cost over $300 (sometimes way more than that!)

included at no extra charge. All drivers are welcome to attend the morning
classroom session as well as the instructional novice and intermediate
download sessions throughout the day. Each driver will receive at
least 5 run sessions and will be sharing the track with other drivers of
similar experience/skill (novice, intermediate, advanced.)

Gates open at 6:45. See ya at the track !

You're only 10 minutes away?!! Man I'll trade ya!

By the way, we're going to set up a hotel discount and announce it pretty soon so stay tuned for that.

I have a question for you guys, too... we want to get some people together to chill and socialize at the wharf in Monterey, maybe at the Blue Fin. Which night would you prefer to do it?

The night before the track day?
Right after the track day ends?
Both?

I'm still waiting to hear from back from the hotel for details, but we should know by tomorrow what the rate will be.

So far in less than a week of open registration and we are more than half filled!! Don't wait until the last minute to register!

Where is everybody? Kevin? David? I can't believe you guys aren't jumping on this. Those of you that have attended T.E.A.M. events have been asking me for a couple of years when we'd finally get an event at Laguna. Well, here's your chance! And they weren't kidding about getting in SOON . . . this sucker is really filling up! See the drivers list at www.onemain.com/~bonster/laguna.html If nothing else, at least check out all the really cool cars that are coming out. And one other thing . . . the Evos are dominating the Subies again. We just can't have that now, can we?

Okay gang, here’s where we are with regards to the openings still available at this event:

Adv: 8 open spots remaining
Int-1: 8
Int-2: 5
Novice: 6

Registration remains only $285 and is open here.

As promised, we've set up a hotel discount at the Mariposa Inn in Monterey. Call 1-800-824-2295 and tell them you’re with the “Leadfoot” group. They have 6 rooms available at $59, 11 at $69, 7 at $79, and more. It’s a pretty nice place, and it’s only a couple miles from the track.

I would go nuts to actually be able to come out there and run Laguna Seca. I got to see it for the first time last month at the SCCA Fall Vintage Classic. Totally cool to see a racetrack I've only seen in video games. ...and to be able to drive it?

They just closed our *one* racetrack down here in April of this year.

Oh, man. It must be difficult living in O'ahu, there being no tracks around and all. That is really a bummer. It would be cause for me to move to the main land, myself. I guess there's always a catch -- track days or beautiful surroundings? I reckon it's hard to get both. I remember going to Kauai about ten years ago -- I traveled all the way around the island in less than a day!

Well, there is no denying that it *is* beautiful out here. I doubt that they can let us go without a track forever. There are rumblings that something might happen, but it's all just rumor at this point.

Trust me - I've thought about moving back to San Diego just for the motorsports scene - I mean, sooooo many tracks within driving distance in California!

When I was up there we drove from San Jose down to Laguna Seca through the back roads. I can't remember exactly where, but we went over Mt. Madonna (she was nowhere to be found) and through all sorts of twisty back roads. You guys have lots of cool driving up there, that's for sure.

...I was suprised to find that after camping at LS I could actually get up and take a real shower in the morning! It wasn't nearly as caveman of a camping experience as I thought it was going to be.

<--- green with envy.

Maybe you can just live in San Diego during the racing season, then move back to Hawaii in the winter?

I found a great motel that is next to an awesome steakhouse in Monterey, and the track is only about 4 miles away. I talked with them and got the rates reduced to $69 + tax per night for one queen bed (was $79), or $79 (was $89) per night for two queen beds. This rate should be secured through a gal named Hanna, and their phone number is 831-372-2945. The place is now a Comfort Inn, formally called the Way Station (www.waystation.com if memory serves). It looks very nice, and is only minutes from stuff like Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquarium. If you decide to lodge there, please remember to ask for the racetrack rate.
