I am teh fastAr!!! (56k . . . nein!!)

Acura High Performance School at Mid-Ohio.
Got back a little earlier today, it was a total blast. We were driving mostly-stock TSXs with the A-Spec package. The cars were pretty good around the auto-x track and deceptively fast around the big track. I hit 105 on the back straight.

At the end of the day we had an auto-x runoff, I posted top TSX time and top three got to battle it out in the S2000.

I wasn't fastest outright in the runoff, but I didn't hit any cones, so I won by 0.642. The other two guys in the S2k ran 42.071 and 42.673 after penalties.
So what do I get for winning this competition you ask? I get to go to the advanced class for free ($900).

Instructors were names I definitely recognized: Elliott Forbes Robinson, Tommy Byrne, Shane Lewis, Dave Roush, and Jim Bishop. It was funny, I was doing the skid car exercise and it occurred to me that the Elliott Forbes Robinson was riding shotgun and telling me to drive faster, sort of a humbling moment . . . then I spun.

Very last activity for the day was follow-the-leader around the big track, we got in probably 15 laps or so. Weather was kind of crazy, if you've never driven 95 in blinding rain . . . well, lets just say you had to bring your A game.

Time sheet and award (I'm Jamie D on the time sheet)

All in all, it was a great day out, I highly recommend to anybody considering this sort of thing (not just Mid-Ohio). I'll definitely be going back (obviously), though I'm not sure if it'll be later this year or next summer.

nice, I have done all their classes (teen, high perf, adv. high perf, lapping (2x times) I love that school, I sent Tommy Byrne incar from my day @ midohio with NASA the other day and got some input, I really like the staff their, they are indeed top notch.

Sweet that the top autox student gets the next class free... thats a big value.

Indeed, Tommy was really cool. I was really surprised about the free class, they aren't at all cheap. I'm seriously considering doing the full sequence and then the competition licensing program.

Where in Cbus are you? I go to Capital.
