so my friend is new to autocross and nither of us know what class he should be in. he has a 64 vw beetle with duel carbs, alternator instead of DC genorator, altornator off switch, full race exhaust, small *** tires 135f 155r, full suspension lowering springs sways....ect, the 1.6L was bored to a 1.8L, and no hood because it wont clear the engine/parts. what class should he be running in

You'll have to ask your local region where they think it'd go. Out here in California, we'd probably put it in "OSP" (for "Other"), which is a catch-all class for street cars that otherwise would get put into a full "Prepared" class (which is full of non-street cars).

If they don't have an OSP class, then maybe STU or SM2 (now called SSM) maybe.
