street tire for rallyx comp ?
hey, im going to school in detroit and i only have my summer tires/wheels here. how much damage does rally cross do to wheels/tires. i done plenty of autox's and have a old set of wrx wheels with the stock re's i was plannin on using in winter/rallyx but left them at home.

depends on the surface that you are driving on. the harder the surface (hard dirt and gravel/rocks) will provide much faster wear on the tires than say a softer surface (soft dirt, sand, snow, etc) also, for the wheels the only damage would be from rocks getting thrown up and causing chips which does happen if you are on a rocky area
If you're planning on attending the rally-x here in Detroit on the 24th, plan on dirt. No major wear on street tires, but performance street rubber won't do you much good. A nice set of snow tires would work pretty well.

Second on the BFGs. I've been winning in Open Class most of a season with modified KDWSs. Switched to rally tires for the last race and found they had less grip.
