Socal rally practice spots?

Camp Pendleton is full of 'em...good luck getting there though.
It's been a while (a long while) but I used to have a lot of fun in 29 Palms / Yucca valley. There are lots of hard pack dirt areas, some right along the road. I wish I could give you better directions, but it's worth exploring. Kinda pretty there, too.
Watch out for the soft sand, it sucks to dig yourself out.
I'm sure there are some SoCal locals that have some good ideas also...
