Rain/Snow tires?
My stock tires are wearing down, and with the rain coming on, I can tell I'm losing the traction I used to have. So I'm wondering, does anyone have any recommendations on some good rain/snow tires? I was thinking about a nicer all-season, but I also would like a little better performance than what I have with the factory tires. So I'm hoping there's a magical performance + rain + snow tire???
Thanks in advance for the input.
BTW, I'd only need the snow part for the occasional trip over the mountains or to the ski area.

Continental ContiExtremeContact
These are nearly as good as my Dunlop Sport SP5000s were (but not quite as good). But the Contis come out a winner as they are only $73 each. Compare that to 'lop SP5K @ $101 each.
I love the Contis, with this bit of rain we have had they are nice and grippy and don't 'plane at all. They are a bit "talkative" when you push them, but they seem to do pretty good in the dry.

Given the wet weather the last week, I was able to complete my full review:

Thanks for your input, it helped a lot. From what I've read about the Conti's performance in the snow, I'm leaning towards them right now. Plus they're cheaper. Sweet.
So now my question is do you know anyone that sells them locally? If not, how does it work with Tire Rack, will they just get delivered to my front door?
