Brake job help?

Hey guys... long time member, has been on a long time hiatus.
I noticed that the dealership wants to charge an absurd amount to replace my brakes. Had car for 4 years, 60,000mi... it's time to get em done, with winter rolling around.
Does anybody know of a cheap and/or easy alternative to going to the dealership in the South King County area? I live in Auburn.
Is it as easy to do by self as I've heard? Where could I find some kind of manual? Or anybody themselves familiar with the job? I've never done it before, but, I am pretty technicly sound if I have the right directions. Any places that are pretty reasonable to do it?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have the factory service manual on CD that I could send you. The job itself isnt that hard, depending on your experience, but you are either going to need to get new rotors, or have yours turned. If you are having them turned you are going to have to plan for a little down time, depending on your local machine shop.
