The setup is Yakima Lowriders (Doublecross on the old car) with a kayak stacker. The canoe I've got up there is a solo whitewater boat so it works on the stacker since it's so narrow and flat on the sides. A normal canoe wouldn't fit that way. You can get Gunwale brackets though that keep them from sliding sideways. On an '01 RS, you would be using Yakima Q Towers, the proper clips, 48" or larger crossbar. You might need a stretch kit too if you are a 2-dr. You can make your setup on the yakima website www.yakima.com Thule is the other major brand, however I prefer the Yakima stuff.

I feel sorry for you in SoCal, no reason to ever have to buy snowtires and rims, very deprived. Now go back to the beach and your sun-shiney weather.
