i mention that in the notes of the first picture...
anyway you use the pen tool to creat shapes... you can then adjust those shapes and whatnot.
i found it incredibly easy once i had done one or two of them, but it's very time consuming. takes at least an hour or two for even the simplest of objects.
also, even though i'm relatively new to vectoring(only been doing it a month or two) i've been using illustrator and photoshop for about six years, so you should take that into account too.
