Too many STI's time to make mine different
Hey all,
As i was driving through town the other day i began to relalize that i saw either a WRX or a STI on almost every street corner. Not that its a bad thing that our community is growing its just a bummer that everyone has the same car as me. Kinda like how you see honda civics everywhere or mustang everywhere (dont get mad im not comparing our cars to those, just stating how you see them everywhere). Well having this happen to me inspired me to change the outer apperance of my car.
With much deliberating and contimplating i have decided what i want to do to my car. Now i know how people feel about trying to make your car all mad JDM and thats not what im trying to do. Nor am i trying to make my car be something its not. I just like the look of this car and i know i will definitely not see it on a street corner so i thought i would make a replica. I want to turn my car into a S204 replica. Like i said because you will never see that wing on a street corner or those badges. Also you will never see a S204 in a 05 body style which will make it a bit unique as well.
Before all the flaming starts im not trying to go all mad JDM and blow hella money on over priced JDM madness parts. Replica parts are just fine with me because im not trying to build a authentic S204 im just making a replica to make my STI look a little different from the rest. I think it will be a fun project and will look super cool when im done.
The overview of my plan is as follows:
- Stage 1 will consist of all exterior modifications
- Stage 2 will consist of all interior modifications
- Stage 3 will consist of all performance modifications
A general idea of what i will be upgrading is as follows:
STAGE 1
- Trunk Trade for wingless trunk
- Paint and install replica S204 wing
- Install S204 Badges front and rear BOUGHT!
- Install rubber lip guard on S204 lip
- Install CF C204 front lip
- Replace OBP side mirrors with PSM side mirrors
- Replace BBS with Rota Formula Mesh in Hyper Silver
- Tint Windows
- Install Spec B sti badge on trunk BOUGHT!
- Replace fog light stickers with chrome stickers to match Spec B badge
STAGE 2
- Trade STI interior for WRX interior
- Replace WRX front seats with Recaro SRD front seats
- Replace STI shifter trim with S204 Shifter trim
- Replace stock shift **** with Type RAR shift **** BOUGHT
- Replace STI ebrake with WRX ebrake
- Switch blue STI mats for Black
STAGE 3
- Tanabe catless Downpipe
- Tanabe Medallion Touring catback
- Cobb AP V2
- DBtuned protune
Once Stages 1-3 are complete i will focus on suspension. I just feel that the stock suspension is just fine for what the car will be doing. Also i do not want to drop the car because i like the fact that i dont scrape on every little bump in the road. As i buy parts and get parts and things installed i will add updates below.
Hope all enjoy,
Will
